    Crazy/Weird Christmas Gifts

Post  lenakalemkiarian on Fri Dec 04, 2009 6:43 pm

Gifts are meant to be something the recipient would want, right? Well, there are some people that receive gifts that were beyond what they had imagined while opening that mysterious box or bag. These are a few stories about the weirdest/ craziest Christmas gift.

    [Freshman]
“I was talking to a few of my friends one day and we somehow detoured to the topic of bathing, and I said that I have never used bar soaps; I only use bath gel. So apparently they decided to get me a bar of soap as a Christmas present. On the day of Christmas they walked up to me and handed me a box, I was expecting something like a gift card, but when I open the box I saw a bar of olay cucumber soap. Suddenly my dream of a nice itunes gift card was devastated by a bar of soap. Even to this day, I still have the soap and I don’t plan on ever using it. Bath gel is still better than soap.”
    - Sophomore, Jaki Liu

[I have one from Stevie Rae Gibbs coming. (junior)]
    [Senior]

[I have them coming, it’s just that the others I have asked haven’t gotten crazy gifts before. But I will have them by tomorrow.]

    Crazy/Weird Christmas Gifts

Gifts are meant to be something the recipient would want, right? Well, there are some people that have received gifts that were beyond what they’d imagined while opening their mysterious box or bag. These are a few stories about weird, crazy, Christmas gifts.

“My great aunt came over to my grandma’s house for Christmas Eve. I was opening my presents and there was one with a weird shape, it looked like just a bundle of wrapping paper, and there was no card. So I opened it and there were two ceramic cats with holes on their heads. I had no idea what they were, but I didn’t want to be rude and ask. Finally, my great aunt saw the confused look on my face and told me they were from her and the they were salt and pepper shakers.

[Junior, for some reason Stevie hasn’t sent me hers yet…]
“As far as awkward presents go, I had an entirely new experience. My sixteenth birthday marked the commencement not only of getting to drive, but of my girls and I exchanging underwear. Everybody was over at my house, family, friends, and current boyfriend. My best friend handed me a Victoria's Secret bag, and I assumed that it would be body spray or lotion, which was the first part. The second was bright red underwear. I blushed so badly, and everybody who was important to me saw it. Although, it was moderately traumatizing, it started a hilarious tradition I wouldn't trade for anything.”

"My sisters and I would wait every Christmas morning for our grandparents to come to our house because their presents were even cooler than Santa’s. I was six and was super pumped for the new pair of softball cleats I had asked them for. I opened my present and it was a man’s dress shirt and jeans. These weren’t the usual oversized clothes that every kid gets to “grow into”. I was so disappointed when I opened it up and I started crying. My grandma had mixed up my gifts with my uncle’s."
