    Thrilling Theme Park Deals
Theme Park Snags up for Grabs
    Fun at Half the Cost

With the start of 2010 come newfound excitement, surprises and a whole year to jam-pack with fun. Carts roar as they thunder across colorful tracks of steel. Children shriek as bells begin to chime from the arcade nearby. The curious aromas of fried goods blended with roasted meats travel up noses. Ah, amusement parks, where thrill and exhilaration come alive. Whether it be whipping through the air at the speed of lightning or cruising down canals in boats, we recognize amusement parks as not only stimulating, but also memorable. Luckily, 2010 is also the year for great deals at theme parks across Southern California.
Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World. Themed “Give a day, Get a Disney day,” Disneyland’s “Cheers to Volunteers” campaign is offering a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket absolutely free for people who volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities. Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts stated: “In 2010, we want to recognize and add one more reason for celebration: the contributions people make to their communities every day. We want to inspire 1 million volunteers – people who will invest time and energy to make their own communities and neighborhoods a better place.” Up and running since Jan. 1, Cheers to Volunteers allows any guest over the age of 6 to be a part of this offer. There’s no better time to make a dream come true for others while letting Disneyland make a few come true for you. Participants must pre-register and sign up through the Disneyland website.
Knott’s Berry Farm. A family favorite in the Orange County area, Knott’s Berry Farm has partnered with Orange County Food Bank to offer you a chance to donate canned goods in exchange for $30 off regular admission. From now until Jan. 31, a donation of 2 or more cans to assist needy families in the Orange County area will allow you to enter the park for the price of a Junior ($23.99). Knott’s Berry is also celebrating College Bowl Days. If you are a fan of on the teams competing in the Poinsettia Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, or BCS Bowl, you can get in for $33.99 simply by wearing your team colors. That is a savings of $20 for every ticket purchased. What better way to have fun and help the community than by participating in Knott’s Can Food Drive and College Bowl Days.
Six Flags Magic Mountain and Universal Studios. Two of Southern California’s most popular theme parks now offer credit cards so you can continue making your regular purchases while racking up points for Six Flags and Universal Studios tickets. Six Flags Platinum MasterCard along with Universal Studio’s Universal American Express Card offer cardholders the opportunity to gain points when purchases are made. Points can then be exchanged for theme park tickets, cash back, popular gift cards, and more. Six Flags Platinum MasterCard holders are also given 10% discount off food and merchandise at participating Six Flags locations. These opportunities allow shoppers to gain benefits without skipping a beat in their daily routines.
Regardless of how many deals we can snag or how much money we save, theme parks like Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm promote community involvement that we should all strive to make routine. With warm heart and a helping hand, we can extend our efforts to people in need while receiving some of the perks as well.
