    Choral Carousel Empty Choral Carousel

Post  ChristinaZhou Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:25 am

If you think you’ve heard enough about our award-winning, glee-interviewee choral groups, then think again. This Tuesday, choir ensembles Chanteurs and New Spirit were accompanied with Treble Choir and Concert Choir for the annual Choral Carousel at the Presbyterian Church in Arcadia.
The show itself was a feat of its own. The audience was swept away at the energy of each performer and was enjoying each note that the choirs hit. The performers weren’t any less enthusiastic; they eagerly sang their hearts out in glee. The performance incorporated playful dance numbers with lively songs from their competitions, and additionally showcased senior soloists.
The show started off… [paragraph on the basic order of events and will include songs sung by the first few groups]
Even as the show progressed later into the night, the energy and excitement was certainly preserved. As the senior soloists stepped out to sing, they were greeted with applause and support even before breathing a word in to the mike. [What they sang and what order they sang]
To wrap up the concert, all performers were called to the stage, and together, they sang “Say it with a Song.” Not only did the audience enjoy the spectacular finale, but some performers were embraced by warm feeling of nostalgia. Junior Susanna Whang recalled, “I remember when I was in Treble Choir during freshman year, [it] felt so cool singing with the ‘big shots’ that were in Chanteurs!”
Although the Choral Carousel is an annual performance, this year’s performance was even more memorable than the preceding performances-the concert was Mr. Rollie Maxson’s final concert before retirement. Loyally working for 38 years under the AUSD Choral department and 30 as the Choral Director, Mr. Maxson has done his best to create the most entertaining choral groups.
This year, the Choral Carousel proudly showcased the choral talents of Arcadia. Not only did audiences enjoy the lively music from Chanteurs and New Spirit, but also from Treble Choir, Senior Soloists, and Concert Choir. A memorable performance, the Choral Carousel was enjoyed by both performer and spectator alike.

I think that even though he won't be here next year, the girls and boys of choir will always remember him and how he stepped into our lives and left footprints.”
This year, The Choral Carousel bid farewell to a well-accomplished Choral Director while entertaining audiences with their outstanding energy and performance. The Choral Carousel was the first public performance of Chanteurs’ and New Spirit’s competitive show, and it tied up the end of competition season with a great feeling of accomplishment.
