So it’s the end of the year and nearly everything is coming to an end. Your stressful school days are lessening one by one, and it seems like classes are kicking back and slowing down. What this much leisure time, what better way to spend it than to make scrumptious desserts for your family and friends, and of course for yourself! Rounding off the end of school year is a list of some of five of the most delicious and traditional desserts that you could make.

    1. Lemon Pie
Although many Americans eat pie throughout the year, there’s no better time to try lemon pie than in the summer.

    Ingredients
One nine inch prepared graham cracker crust
One quart vanilla ice cream, softened
One six ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate
One eight ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed

    Directions
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
    2. Bake crust in oven for eight to ten minutes until light brown.
    3. Allow to cool.
    4. In a large bowl, mix until creamy the ice cream, lemonade and whipped topping.
    5. Spread mixture into pie crust, then place in freezer for 20 minutes.
    6. Serve pie after it has set

    2. Cream Puff

    Ingredients
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
    2 cups heavy cream
    1 cup milk
    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup water
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    4 eggs

    Directions
Mix together vanilla instant pudding mix, cream and milk. Cover and refrigerate to set.
    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry.
When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells.

    3. Sorbet

    Ingredients
    Fruit of choice
    1 cup simple syrup
    3 tablespoons fresh lime juice

    Directions
Place cubed fruit in a food processor, and puree. Pour in simple syrup and lime juice, and puree until smooth.
Place in an ice cream maker. Freeze thoroughly.

And there you have it, five of the best tasting traditional desserts that are simple and easy to make. Bake them yourself, or with a friend – just remember don’t indulge in them too much or you might find yourself a few pounds heavier!
