    Quiz Bowl Skeleton

Did you know that there are people who can tell you in a snap that the average human being produces about 10,000 gallons of saliva in their lifetime? Did you know that these same people recently competed in Technophobia, their third competition of the year, on November 14th at Caltech? These mystical people are none other than the Arcadia High School Quiz Bowl! Technophobia is in the tossup/bonus format – both teams have a chance to compete for a tossup question and the team that answers correctly receives a bonus question that the other team cannot answer. Quiz Bowl’s three teams (A, B, and C) participated in separate levels of competitions. ---quotes about the three teams….possible four if there was a D team--- In the morning, the teams were separated into three brackets and the teams competed in the “round robin” style within each bracket, meaning that each team had the opportunity to compete with every other team once. ---quotes about how the morning went---For the afternoon competition, the teams were redistributed in three brackets based on the winnings of the morning rounds. ---quotes about how quiz bowl did and how great the teams did and how fun it was--- Questions from Technophobia ranged from “some very hard smartypants history question” to “some pop culture question about celebrities or something.” ---quote about how great quizbowl did and how they expect more to come in the future--- Whoevergavethatlastquote is definitely right about that!

Derek, I' m really sorry! the article sounds so dry because i have no idea what i' m talking about =[ my brother told me all this stuff but i didn' t understand and i didn' t want to make him clarify because what he said was pretty understandable to a person in the average IQ range T___T feel free to make any corrections/insults!!!

Did you know that there are people who can tell you in a snap how much saliva the average human produces in a lifetime? Who know off the tops of their heads who the head of state of Estonia is? Who have memorized the names of every work by Fyodor Dostoyevsky? Did you also know that these same people recently competed in Technophobia, their third competition of the year, on November 14th at the California Institute of Technology?
These mystical people are none other than the Arcadia High School Quiz Bowl team! This knowledgeable bunch compete against other schools, racing to answer toss-up and bonus questions which touch upon virtually every realm of human knowledge. Toss-ups from Technophobia ranged from “some very hard smartypants history question” to “some pop culture question about celebrities or something”
At Technophobia, Arcadia’s Quiz Bowl-ers were separated into three/four teams of four or five. “quote about the tree teams”
In the morning, the teams were randomly distributed into three backets and competed round-robin style within their brackets, meaning that all the teams competed with each other at least once. For the afternoon competition, the teams were separated into three new brackets depending on how they performed in the morning. “quote about which teams made the top/middle/lower bracket.”
The main goal of the whole competition was to qualify for nationals by placing within the top three teams. ---insert something about awesome results, quotes about the awesomeness, LOLOLOLOL GO QUIZBOWL DLASFJ;LDAJG;LASJDL;AD ---
“quote about how great Quizbowl did and how they expect more to come in the future.”
With the level of potential and dedication which Quizbowl has shown so far this year, whoevergavethatlastquote is definitely right about that!

    Quiz Bowl

Did you know that there are people who can tell you in a snap how much saliva the average human produces in a lifetime? Who know off the tops of their heads who the head of state of Estonia is? Who have memorized the names of every work by Fyodor Dostoyevsky? Did you also know that these same people recently competed in Technophobia, their third competition of the year, on Nov. 14 at the California Institute of Technology?

These mysterious people are none other than the Arcadia High School Quiz Bowl team! This knowledgeable bunch compete against other schools, racing to answer toss-up and bonus questions which touch upon virtually every realm of human knowledge. Toss-ups from Technophobia ranged from which Senator recently switched to the Democratic Party (Arlen Specter) to who plays the main character in The Game Plan (Dwayne Johnson).

Arcadia’s Quiz Bowl-ers were separated into A, B, and C teams, each consisting of four or five people. “Overall, we try to put the strongest players on the A team,” explained Quiz Bowl co-captain Stanley Yuan, “but we also try to have a good balance of skill and seniority across the board.”

The competition was set up in a round-robin format, meaning that each team competed with all the others at least once. To qualify for nationals, a team must place within the top three. Arcadia’s A team, consisting of Stanley Yuan, senior Eddie Xue, junior Jessica Liang, and sophomore Carl Tso, came in third place. Since A team already qualified at last month’s Tournament Without An Interesting Name, however, their result will have no effect.

“Even though we didn’t qualify another team,” said senior Alex Wang, “I still think we did well. It’s also a lot of fun to flaunt what you know.”

Indeed, Arcadia’s teams more than held their own against the competition. All three finished with more wins than losses.

“one more quote about how awesome Quizbowl is,” said someone on Quizbowl, “and how they expect more to com.”

With the level of potential and dedication which the team has shown so far this year, whoevergavethatlastquote is definitely right about that!
