Nancy Pulciano has a huge passion for fashion. Her love of fashion took over her life when she was about for and she has been working at it ever since. She remembers “dressing up [her] Barbies in crazy outfits,” and “[dressing] up her cat in doll clothing and [doing] a mini animal fashion show.”

Nancy’s goal as far as fashion is to “run the West Coast with a kick back Californian urban style.” Although she has not been an intern for fashion companies yet, she plans on getting on internship at Billabong or Stussy. During these internships, she will be helping out the design team. As of now, she is getting in contact with a few screen printing companies and is trading art for shirts being made for her.

Nancy is also working on getting a company up and running and is planning to do so in a few months. Those few months are set aside to actually be able to put the time and money in needed to make this work and for meeting up with people to cut deals on production. There is no set name on the company yet, but definitely keep your eyes and ears open.
Not only is Nancy interested in fashion, she also is an amazing artist. She is in Art Honors at AHS and loves it. In this class, you can do whatever you want, but you have to turn in at least fifteen pieces of art per semester. There are no boundaries on how something should look, as long as it doesn’t look like a two-year-old drew it. Nancy said that they are not given any category to work with so the hardest part of the class is trying to out what to draw. Nancy plans on going to either UC Davis or Cal State Long Beach, majoring in visual communications, “graphic design with a business edge.”
Nancy also plays on our Water Polo team but was unable to participate this season due to a shoulder injury that occurred over the summer while at Junior Olympics. Even though she had surgery last week, causing her to miss swim season, she is still planning on going back to club this summer.

Although Nancy has a lot on her plate, she still has time in her busy schedule to live somewhat like a regular teenager. She, like everyone else, put her priorities first. She figures this out by telling herself “you decide, work for something and the fun will come, but you decide.” She has missed many birthday parties in the past, but she has gone to some.

Nancy Pulciano is an all-around girl who has a passion for fashion, art, sports and, most of all, organizing her hectic life.

She remembers “dressing up [her] Barbies in crazy outfits,” and “[dressing] up her cat in doll clothing and [doing] a mini animal fashion show.”

Nancy’s goal as far as fashion [goes] is to “run the West Coast with a kick back Californian urban style.” Although she has not been an intern for fashion companies yet, she plans on getting on [an] internship at Billabong or Stussy. During these internships, ['during' is usually used for time. please reword] she will be helping out the design team [can you elaborate on that a little more?]. As of now, she is getting in contact with a few screen printing companies and is trading art for shirts being made for her. [can you elaborate on this some more too?]

Nancy is also working on getting a company up and running and is planning to do so in a few months. Those few months are set aside to actually be able to put the time and money in needed to make this work and for meeting up with people to cut deals on production. There is no set name on the company yet, but definitely keep your eyes and ears open. Not only is Nancy interested in fashion, she also is [is also] an amazing artist. She is in Art Honors at AHS and loves it. In this class, you can do whatever you want, but you have to turn in at least fifteen pieces of art per semester [OH NO!!! NO 2ND PERSONNN!!!]. There are no boundaries on how something should look, as long as it doesn’t look like a two-year-old drew it. Nancy said that they are not given any category to work with so the hardest part of the class is trying to out what to draw. [try starting this sentence in another way, since you started it the same way in the previous sentence] Nancy plans on going to either UC Davis or Cal State Long Beach, majoring in visual communications, [which is] “graphic design with a business edge.”

hey lena! try to include some more about what she wants to do in the future. include stuff not only about where she wants to go to college and what she wants to major in but also what she wants to accomplish during college and even afterwards.

the screenprinting part and the internship part is a little confusing so if you could clarify a little more and include more specific details of it all that would be great

also try to keep more on-topic about the fashion design. its okay to include stuff about what she does outside fashion but you should probably conclude with the point of the article (which is her fashion designing)

    thanks lena!

She remembers “dressing up [her] Barbies in crazy outfits,” and “[dressing] up her cat in doll clothing and [doing] a mini animal fashion show.”

Nancy’s goal as far as fashion goes is to “run the West Coast with a kick back Californian urban style.” Although she has not been an intern [interned] for fashion companies yet, she plans on getting on [an] internship at Billabong or Stussy. For these internships, she will be [Her dream internship involves] helping out the design team. [delete period, use a dash here instead, combine the two sentences] Meaning, she will help making designs for their merchandise. As of now, she is getting in contact with a few screen printing companies and is trading art for shirts being made for her. [This last sentence gets a little confusing. Can you think of another way to phrase this last part about 'trading art for shirts'?]

Nancy is also working on getting a [her own] company up and running and is planning to do so in a few months. [You use the phrase 'is ___' a lot. Can you rearrange the sentence a bit to make it 'plans' instead of 'is planning'? It sounds clearer and less wordy] Those few months are set aside to actually be able to put the time and money in needed to make this work and for meeting up with people to cut deals on production. [Within these few months, Nancy plans on putting in the time and money needed to make her first company run smoothly, as well as meet up with people who can cut deals on production] There is no set name on the company yet, [She hasn't decided a name for the company yet,] but definitely keep your eyes and ears open.

Not only is Nancy interested in fashion, she is also an amazing artist. She is in Art Honors at AHS and loves it. In this class, one can do whatever they want, but they have to turn in at least fifteen pieces of art per semester. [Change 'one' to students] There are no boundaries on how something should look, as long as it doesn’t look like a two-year-old drew it. Nancy said that they are not given any category to work with so the hardest part of the class is trying to out what to draw. [try starting this sentence in another way, since you started it the same way in the previous sentence] Nancy plans on going to either UC Davis or Cal State Long Beach, majoring in visual communications, which is “graphic design with a business edge.”

Nancy also plays on the AHS Water Polo team but was unable to participate this season due to a shoulder injury that occurred over the summer while [she was participating] at [the 2009] Junior Olympics. [I think it would be a good idea to give more info about the Junior Olympics thing here. It sounds noteworthy] Even though she had surgery last week, causing her to miss swim season, she is still planning on going back to club this summer. [She also had to miss swim season because of surgery on her shoulder last week, but she plans on going back to doing club sports this summer]

Although Nancy has a lot on her plate, she still has time in her busy schedule to live somewhat like a regular teenager. She, like everyone else, put her priorities first. [This is confusing phrasing. Reword this last sentence. 'She, like everybody else, puts _____ as her first priority in life] She figures this out by telling herself “you decide, work for something and the fun will come, but you decide.” She has missed many birthday parties in the past, but she has gone to some. [Okay, that last sentence is just random. Either link it to the rest of the paragraph, or take it out altogether]

Fill in the blank with summer/winter something to indicate she's doing this soon, so the sentence flows better]. Her dream internship involves helping out the design team- she will help making designs for their merchandise. As of now, she is getting in contact with a few screen printing companies and is trading art she made for customized shirts. [I still don't quite understand this last part - does she get her artwork put on the t-shirts and then are they sold to other people? This part needs a little more explanation]

Nancy is also working on getting her own company up and running and plans to do so in a few months. Within these few months [This part seems repetitive], Nancy plans on putting in the time and money needed to make her first company run smoothly, as well as meet up with people who can cut deals on production.
