Intro and Conclusion (more coming later)
    3 Point Shootout
One minute. That is all the time given to the players to show that they know how to make a lot of 3 point shots. Every Tuesday and Thursday from Apr. 13 to Apr. 22 in the North Gym, students were able to make those 3 point shots so that they can get a Yogurtland Gift Card.

It is a given that ________ is happy that he/she won the 3 Point Shoot Out, not only for the glory of being a good Basketball player, but for the wonderful award they get, a Yogurtland Gift Card.

Forty five seconds. That is all the time given for the players to show their shooting abilities. Every Tuesday and Thursday from Apr. 13 to Apr. 22 in the North Gym students competed in a three-point shoot out.
Students entered the North Gym at the beginning of lunch, eagerly awaiting their time to shine. For about ten minutes, participants spent their time practicing their shooting skills. Before they knew it, it was officially time for them to begin. The members of Freshman Council set up three balls on marked spots along the three-point line, and, after they shot one, continuously caught them and put them back. “You go around the three-point line and back until your 45 seconds is over,” said Freshman President, Tricia Xu.
This was a very fast-paced competition, which is why it wasn’t that long. About thirty people signed up and went every day that the competition was held, until Apr. 22. After each person had their final chance to prove that they deserve the prize, they tallied up the total shots each person made and came up with the winner. The winner of the competition was freshman Josh Kusmulyana with thirteen shots. Josh had decided to enter because “[he likes] to play basketball and [he likes] to shoot three- pointers” and because “there is really nothing to do at lunch besides the normal stuff!”
It is a given that Josh is happy that he won the Three Point Shootout, not only for the glory of being a good basketball player, but for the wonderful award they get, a Yogurtland Gift Card.
