Have you noticed that a few of your fellow classmates have been feeling super excited lately? Why? Because of Ocean Science Bowl (OSB) of course! On April 23 to April 25, AHS’ very own OSB flew all the way (approximately 2300 miles / 3700 km) to St. Petersburg, Florida to compete in nationals. Captain Senior Jason Jong bravely led his team in an epic battle of oceanography knowledge including chemistry, ocean biology, and geology. They competed in a Jeopardy styled tournament testing their agility with the use of buzzers. Usually OSB twice a week: once in E-5 for one hour, and again over the weekend at Jason’s house for two additional hours. But preparing for nationals was extremely hardcore for OSB, meeting ten hours, twice a week and even more individual study in anticipation for there meet. Tryouts for OSB will occur in mid-May so be sure to attend! AHS wishes OSB the best of luck at future tournaments.

Have you noticed that a few of your fellow classmates have been feeling super excited lately? [del "feeling"]

Because of Ocean Science Bowl (OSB), of course!

On Apr. 23 to Apr. 25, AHS’ very own OSB flew all the way (approximately 2300 miles / 3700 km) to St. Petersburg, Florida [change to state abbreviation] to compete in the national championships.

They [restate antecedent: OSB] competed in a Jeopardy- style tournament that tested their agility through the use of buzzers.

But preparing for nationals was extremely hardcore for OSB, which met for ten hours, twice a week, on top of the individual study in anticipation for their meet a [change "a" to "during the"] month prior to the competition.
