    Nerd Limerick Empty Nerd Limerick

Post  nancyxiao Tue May 11, 2010 7:15 pm

Four different reflections of Arcadia High School (in Limerick form!)

    The Wallflower
Four years at school, but one regret:
    Being so easy to forget.
I want to change, I want to grow
I want the whole wide world to know
You have not seen the last of me yet.

    The Straight-A Student
I look back now at what I've made
No friends, no love; but I got the grade.
You ask me to come see Iron Man
All I can say is talk to the hand.
Got my report card, and I'm okay.

    The Future Oriented One
    "Future Lawyer" I was crowned
Other than that, I never got around.
Was never cool, was never loud
At least I made my parents proud.
They can always say I'm Ivy bound.

    The School-Spirited One
You see a girl jumping in glee
Yellow and red? She must be me.
I'm sad to leave; we all move on
The years pass by, I won't be gone.
Because in spirit, I'll always be Apache!

Nerd Limerick Empty w/ intro and conclusion

Post  Joanna Liao Thu May 13, 2010 7:32 pm

In celebration of National Limerick Day, Apache’s all over AHS wrote limericks about goals and desires that are still in need of completion. Like the Post Secret Project, these limericks were written to reveal things that they’ve always wanted to say or do – to leave AHS without regrets. Written by a diverse group of students, these limericks expose a burst of emotional aspirations that are finally being uncovered.

After reading these limericks, can’t you think of something that has been bugging you this school year? Anything you would want to change or still want to do? Then take some time out of your day and celebrate National Limerick Day by writing your very own limerick. Release your stress from studying for finals, vent about anything you want, and create a meaningful limerick!

    new intro

Do you know what you should do when you’re feeling depressed or regretful? Try writing a limerick! A limerick contains five lines, each with an anapestic or amphibrach meter and a rhyme scheme of aabba. Whether it is desiring a better looking appearance, or even wishing you didn’t eat that piece of garlic bread this morning, a limerick can easily express what your true thoughts are. Here are a few examples to get you started:

Once again, it is the end of another school year here at AHS. A diverse group of students are leaving our campus. Before they leave, we're sure that they have a few things they would like to say, but they are probably too lazy or scared to say them. So I've taken the liberty of writing a few limericks to express their feelings for them. Enjoy, and I hope you leave with no regrets.

    The Wallflower
Four years at school, but one regret:
    Being so easy to forget.
I want to change, I want to grow
I want the whole wide world to know
You have not seen the last of me yet.

I don't quite know what I will do
But it will be big and affect you
And I'll look back at who I was
    A quiet boy, now he's a fuzz
You can hold my words to be true.

    The Straight-A Student
I look back now at what I've made
No friends, no love; but I got the grade.
You ask me to come see Iron Man
All I can say is talk to the hand.
Got my report card, and I'm okay.

I still can't help but feel so poor
A's are great, but I want more
"More" being the girl I never got
Her name was Cher, boy was she hot!
It's too late now, she's out the door.

    The Future Oriented One
    "Future Lawyer" I was crowned
Other than that, I never got around.
Was never cool, was never loud
At least I made my parents proud.
They can always say I'm Ivy bound.

One day I'll do something just for me
No mom, no dad, I am going to party!
My parents don't know they bred a rebel
    Reverse psychology they never revelled
They're in for it when I turn twenty!

    The School-Spirited One
You see a girl jumping in glee
Yellow and red? She must be me.
I'm sad to leave; we all move on
The years pass by, I won't be gone.
Because in spirit, I'll always be Apache!
(man, I really don't want to write a second part to this...when I wrote this limerick, I had it in mind as the ending...I really can't think of anything better to end with)

    Btw, I rewrote the intro..(:

Feel better? No? You will if you tell the truth about what you've been holding back. For you graduating seniors, this may be the last time in your entire life that you get to see this group of people around you. So leave on a good note, with nothing left in the air to clear. Nothing left on your chest to get off. Nothing left on your tongue to spit out. And for all of use who have a good one or two years left at AHS...that mean comment or secret confession can wait Smile
