Up and Coming stars: Glindyll M

Though she measures in at just below 5 feet, freshman Glindyll Mancia makes sure her presence is known when she steps onto the track. She's young, but talented. The ninth grader from Dana has already run a 2:18 in the 800, putting her on the list of top freshmen in the state of California. She qualified for CIF Prelims by placing 2nd at league finals, running a fine 2:19. Glindyll is determined to continue her success, consistently running hard in practices to prepare her for the big meets. "[Insert Quote]," said Glindyll. This Saturday, she will get down to business on the oval office ( a.k.a. the track) and hopefully, advance to CIF Finals in her specialty, the 800 meter run.

On Saturday May 15, she got down to business on the oval office, ( a.k.a. the track) tying her personal record in the 800 and running the fastest time for a freshman in Division 1 Southern Section Prelims. Unfortunately, the stiff competition and talented older girls had the advantage and she failed to advance to CIF Finals. "I just want to be able to inspire people to show that anyone can do it," said Glindyll. With her enthusiasm and optimistic attitude, Glindyll Mancia is someone to look for in the coming years.
